BOTH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2013 IN EUROPE
After the final presentations of all bidding nations at the Council meeting in Herzogenaurach, IHF President Dr. Hassan Moustafa awarded two major tournaments.
The Men’s World Championships 2013 will be hosted by Spain, the Women’s World Championship 2013 by Serbia.
For both nations it is the first time ever to host a senior’s World Championship. Spain once hosted the Men’s European Championship in 1996, and Serbia will host the Men’s EURO 2012, one year before the Women’s WCh will be carried out. The Women’s World Championship 1973 took place in former Yugoslavia.
