The last major event of the 2008 European handball season, the 8th Women’s European Championship, will throw off on 2 December in FYR Macedonia. The two cities hosting the 16 teams will be Ohrid and the capital Skopje.
The teams will arrive to the venues in the upcoming days, but the preparations are well underway. The EHF officials have been checking the playing halls, the infrastructure and test matches will also be played just before the opening day.
A series of meetings will lead up to the event. The Officials’ Conference for delegates and referees has begun on 29 December.
The Technical Meeting on 1 December will be the deadline for the national teams to submit the official squad lists for the tournament, up to 16 players.
Tickets are still available for the tournament (for ticket information please click here), but if you do not have a chance to visit FYR Macedonia and enjoy the games from the venue, you will not have to lose everything.
The official website of the EURO Events, http://www.ehf-euro.com/, will keep you up-to-date in the upcoming two weeks on what’s happening in Ohrid and Skopje.
