20 nations will meet from 11 to 20 February in Egypt for the 19th Men’s and Women’s African Championship. All matches will take place in Cairo and Suez. The three top ranked teams of the men’s tournament will qualify for the WCH in Sweden 2011, the three top ranked women’s teams for the WCH 2011 in Brazil. The Men’s tournament will be played in three groups of the Preliminary Round. In group A Tunisia will meet Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria and Libya, in group B host Egypt will play against Angola, Cameroon and Gabon, group C Algeria, Congo, Morocco and Ivory Coast will play. The two best teams of each group will qualify for the Main Round, semifinals and finals will follow in Cairo.The Preliminary Round of the women’s tournament will be played in two groups: A with the teams of Ivory Coast, Tunisia, Algeria and Cameroon, B with Angola, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo and Egypt. After this round, quarterfinals, semifinals and final will follow. Both finals – men and women – will be played on 20 February in Cairo.Fonte: IHF
